EU-Roadshow in Styria
European Municipalities (EUropaGEMeinden) Join the Party
In a joint campaign, the Austrian Chamber of Commerce, the Chancellorship, the Industrialist Association, the social partner organization Österreichische Gesellschaft für Europapolitik (Austrian Association for European Politics) and the EuropeDirect Information Network drove the EU-Bus through Styria. The aim is to make the Eurpean Union more tangible for the citizens and to show them its usefulness. All citizens must have the possibility to discuss their thoughts about Europe. The campaign motto: "Europe to the Citizens!"
The stops in Liezen, Graz and Hartberg featured comprehensive information about Europe in the Chamber of Commerce's own EU-Bus. Further data was provided by the EuropeDirect Information Network Styria. Richard Kühnel, Head of Cabinet of the Austrian EU-Commissioner, contributed insider knowledge from Brussels. Martin Bartenstein, Minister for Economic Affairs, and Christoph Leitl, President of the Chamber of Commerce attended the Roadshow in Graz. Austria's youngest member of Parliament, Jochen Pack, came to Hartberg for an informative Q and A.
Karaoke, live music and Im Rahmenprogramm: Karaoke, Show-Acts von Stephanie, and a "European Wheel of Fortune" topped off the events.
