Focus Western Balkans
The proximity to the Balkans, the historically close ties that link our countries, and a common future perspective of European integration are the reasons for the State of Styria to make the Western Balkans a focal area of its external relations. It is part of the Styrian Strategy for European and International Affairs and was adopted on 10 June 2021 by the Styrian Government and approved by the Styrian Parliament on 6 July 2021 with the aim of cooperating on a project-based interregional level with the six countries that remain grey areas on the EU map (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia). The Department for European and International Affairs considers itself a networking platform in this respect.
"Café Europa Westbalkan" series
Join in the conversation to make a contribution: The regular event series that follows the model of the tried and tested "Café Europa" exchange, discusses topics relating to the Western Balkans from a wide variety of perspectives and also sheds light on interfaces with Styria. Invitation to "Café Europa Westbalkan" is open to all who are interested in the Western Balkans, in exchanges about the region, in networking with Styrian, Austrian and international experts, or in deepening and shaping bilateral relations together with the Department for European and International Affairs.
