EUROPE DIRECT Styria
Meet us. Ask us, Talk with us.
"Europe must be supported, not endured, by its citizens."
Europe Direct Steiermark is part of the information and communication network of the European Commission. The information service was launched in 2005 and is open to all citizens of the European Union. The European project cannot be communicated from Brussels alone, and with this in mind, 400 offices have been established all across Europe. These offices act as interfaces between conceptualised European policy and the real needs and expectations of the European people. The Austrian EUROPE DIRECT network comprises ten information centres; the Styrian "EDI" is located on Landhausgasse 7 in Graz, close to the main square of the Styrian capital.
EUROPE DIRECT Steiermark sees itself as a hub that shares information, communication, and knowledge about Europe and promotes the visibility of Europe in all its various facets. It provides direct access to the EU bookshop, information on current events and EU agendas, information on EU subsidies and the funding of Europe-related school projects or school trips to Strasbourg, Luxembourg or Brussels. The services also include support in the organisation of events. EUROPE DIRECT Steiermark offers briefings, workshops, panel discussions and training both online and on-site.
INFORMATION - COMMUNICATION - EDUCATION ABOUT EUROPE

- Communication about the EU is part of the Europe Strategy of Styria. The Strategy of the State of Styria for European and International Affairs specifies that it is the task of Styrian politics to raise people's awareness of the importance of European integration for their lives and to offer fact-based information on all topics that are of interest to European citizens.
- EUROPE DIRECT is a communication service of the European Commission. It was launched in 2005 because the Europe project cannot be communicated by Brussels alone.
